Myrtle Jahnke, 83, of Hector, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at the Olivia Healthcare Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul' s Lutheran Church in Hector with burial in the Hector City Cemetery. Visitation will be will 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Hughes Funeral Home, Hector, and one hour prior to the service at the chuch Monday. She is survived by her husband Herbert of Hector; children, Francis and Evan of Elk River, and Janice and Victor Albrecht of Minneapolis; six grandhildren; a great-granddaughter; brother, Robert Ewer of Bird Island; sister and brother-in-law, Enid and Stanley Baker of Post Falls, Idaho; sisters-in-law, Elfrieda Jurisch of Hector, Violet Jahnke of Hector, Dorothy Ewer of Bird Island, and Catherine Ewer of Olivia; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters. She was born April 7,1918, in Kingman Township, rural Bird Island, to George Sr. and Ora Mae (Senescall) Ewer. She grew up in the Bird Island area and attended the Bird Island School. She married Herbert Jahnke on March 21, 1936, in Hector. They lived in Hector. She worked at the Telephone Company, Peterson's Grocery Store, and as a bookkeeper for the Hector Farmers Elevator. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector.
