Son of Cornelius Klutz Christy & Clara Christy ------------------------------ Mr. James Edgar Christy, 85, of Masonic and Eastern Star Home died Monday, Aug. 7, 1995, at Wesley Long Community Hospital. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Masonic and Eastern Star Home Chapel with the Rev. Victor Dowd officiating. Interment with Masonic Graveside Rites will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. Grandchildren, Debbie Burdick Clark, Dacia Neal, Sondra Christy, Donna Christy, Sheldon Christy, and Daniel Christy will serve as pallbearers. A native of Troutman, Mr. Christy retired from P. Lorillard Company as an engineering clerk. He was a Mason and a member of Corinthian Masonic Lodge 542 and was a Shriner. He was a member of the Retiree's Club at P. Lorillard and a member of First Baptist Church and the Vanguard Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Marie Christy and two sons, James Edgar Christy Jr. and John B. Christy. Survivors include his wife, Loma Brown Christy of the home; daughters, Nancy Burdick of Cambridge Springs, Pa., Sarah Daniel and Kathryn Stack, both of Greensboro; son, Bill Christy of Greensboro; sister, Ruth Reinhardt of Jackson, Miss.; brother, Earl Christy of Temple, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
