Bio

Herald Coaster, May 18, 1963: Funeral services for Mrs. Rosie Orsak, 88, were held from the Triska Funeral Home in East Bernard at 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 13. Requiem Mass followed at 9 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Hungerford, with Rev. Henry Rachunek officiating. Mrs. Orsak was born in Czechoslovakia on May 13, 1875, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kuban. She came to America with her parents at the age of 8 years, settling in Ellinger. In 1892, she married John Orsak in Fayetteville. Later they lived in Schulenburg and Frydek. In 1921, they moved to Wallis and in 1946, they moved to Hungerford. She passed away Friday following a short illness. She was a member of the Wallis K.J.Z.T. Society. Also a member of the Christian Mother Club in Hungerford. Survivors are two sons, Frank of Hungerford and Ludwik of California; five daughters, Mrs. Sophie Vesely of Ganado, Mrs. Rosie Kosik of Wallis, and Mrs. Martha Zalesik, Mrs. Mollie Crosby, and Mrs. Angeline Repka of Houston; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Cecelia Labay of Wharton, Miss Vera Kuban of Bartlett, and Miss Bertha Kuban of California. Pallbearers were grandsons. Interment was made in the Wallis Catholic Cemetery, with Triska Funeral Home in charge.
