Bio

The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, July 21, 1974 E. Chester Roe, 59, of Bagdad, died Wednesday at Bagdad. Mr. Roe was born December 14, 1914 at Junction, Texas. He moved to Bagdad from Paris, Tex. In engineer by profession, he was active in several of the Masonic bodies. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Wickenburg Lodge, a charter member of the Bagdad Masonic Lodge, past master of the Blue Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite and El Zaribah Shrine in Phoenix, and was Rainbow Dad for Azurite Assembly of the Rainbow for Girls in Bagdad, a position he held from its inception in Bagdad until last year. He was also a member of the Lions Club, Calvary Methodist Church in Paris, Texas, the American Society of Civil Engineers and served on the Yavapai County Zoning Board. Survivors include his widow, Lillian, of Bagdad; one daughter, Mrs. Lou An Pike, of Lemoore, Calif., two brothers, Cecil of San Angelo, Tex. and Joseph of Haysville, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Stella Merrifield; and his mother, Mrs. John Tharp, both of Winters, Tex.; and three grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hilltop Community Church in Bagdad. Interment with gravesite services conducted at the Masonic Lodge will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
