Bio

Elmer William Mann, 86, of Cuero, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2012. He was born on August 31, 1925, in Pleasanton, to the late Jacob Bennie "Jake" Mann and Catherine Louise "Katie" Geyer Mann. He married Agnes Catherine Hahn on January 2, 1954, in George West. Elmer was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Army. He worked in the oilfield for Harkins Drilling for many years and was a member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Cuero. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Agnes Catherine Hahn Mann of Cuero; sisters, Elsie Harris of Spring, and Mildred Gaydos of Jourdanton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jake Edmund Mann, Raymond August "Doc" Mann, and Harold Charles "Billy" Mann; and sister, Gladys Catherine Mann Anderson. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 6, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, 10 a.m., at Saint Michael's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers include David Hahn, Keith Hahn, David Fulenchek, Raymond Mann, David Ibrom, and Robert Ibrom. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Gonzales, the staff of Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation, and the staff of the Cuero Community Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
