Prichard. These are the unanimous sentiments of all those who knew Mr. Prichard and had dealings with him. He was operated on for appendicitis Thursday, Oct. 7, and put up a strong and brave fight never losing his courage, but on Thursday morning his condition grew worse, he became weak and began to sink into unconsciousness and lingered that way all day Thursday and finally passed away that evening. No man ever made a braver fight but he had to give up. The funeral services were held from the family residence on Sunday afternoon conducted by the Father Alexander and assisted by the Methodist choir who furnished the music. The attendance at the funeral was large and every corner of the county was represented besides many people from neighboring towns. The remains were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery. Robert N. Prichard was born near Lewistown, Ill., on December 28, 1864 and died October 14, 1926, being aged 62 years, 2 months and 14 days. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife Margaret; nine children, Robert P., Joe C. and Helen, all of Omaha; Anna Erickson, Beatrice Morrell and Raymond of Galesburg, Ill.; John J. , Francis and little Billie, all of Loup City. He also leaves to mourn his death to [sic] sisters, Mrs. Alice Kost of Beardstown, Ill., and Mrs. James Ashbaugh of Galesburg, Ill.; one brother P. L. Prichard of Knapp, Wis., ten grand children and the many friends wherever he was known. Mr. Prichard came to Loup City May 16, 1907, and has resided here ever since. He has occupied himself with a number of occupations. At one time he had charge of the farmers elevator, later he was associated with Felix Makowski in the mercantile business and then went into the cream and poultry business and handled oils and all kinds of stock food and salt, shipping it in by the car load lots. Mr. Prichard was also a good band leader and his services were in demand in all surrounding towns, Ashton, Rockville, Comstock, Arcadia, Sargent and Litchfield. He has been connected with the Loup City band for many years and many of our younger people owe their music career to Mr. Prichard. His death is a loss to the business interests of Loup City who added quite materially to the making of Loup City the business center that it is. The community mourns his death and extends sympathy to the bereaved ones. The Sherman County Times - Oct 22 1926
