Roy Simpkins ODESSA Roy Simpkins, age 85, of Odessa, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012, in Odessa. He was born March 8, 1926 in Hamilton, Texas to Edward Simpkins and Alice Huniziker. He was a hard working man and retired from Jones Brothers after 24 years. He enjoyed retirement and especially watching his grandchildren's sporting event. He enjoyed working in the yard and playing dominos. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Simpkins; sisters, Ann Hooper, Winnie Jackson and Faye McKay; brothers, Grover and George Simpkins. Survivors include his wife, Martha Agan Simpkins; daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Ricky Whitaker; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Theresa Simpkins; grandchildren, Susan Simpkins, Keri Rake, Jeromey and wife Sheri Whitaker, Justin and wife Meredith Whitaker, Hailey and Lindsey Simpkins; great-grandchildren, Andrew Simpkins, Kristen and Haley Rake, Katie and Emma Simpkins, Talyn and Camdyn Whitaker; sisters, Nell Belz and Bea Peavy; sister-in-law, Thelma Simpkins; brothers-in-laws, Roy Belz and Don Peavy and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home.
