Gladys Ramona Barnes August 26, 1933 - November 23, 2024 Gladys Ramona Barnes, 91, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024. She was born August 26, 1933, in Pensacola Florida, and adopted by Paul E. Maygarden and Margaret Louise Williams Maygarden. She was married to Donnie Gene Barnes for 72 years. Ramona loved her family and was a devoted homemaker while, when needed, helped with clerical work at their business, Barnes Electric Company. Ramona was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she taught Ladies Sunday School classes for years. She had a passion for dogs. She loved petting every dog she saw if she could. She got great enjoyment out of watching old TV shows (especially John Wayne movies, her favorite actor). Her favorite food? Chocolate chip cookies, of course. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Maggie Maygarden; brother, Marvin E. Maygarden; husband, Donnie Gene Barnes; and her loving daughter, Kay Anderson. Ramona is survived by her oldest daughter, Debby (Bob) Barnett; grandsons, John (Ericka) Barnett, Keith (Monica) Barnett, Josh (Alicia) Barnett, Dan Barnett, Ken White, Donnie Johnson and Ben (Amanda) Johnson; many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Services will be private. Interment will be at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
