Born to Fred and Emma (Turek) Ulrich. Grew up in Ord; partnered with his father in Ulrich Sand and Gravel Contracting which he later bought and continued the business for 35 years. Married Sep 10 1955 to Carolee Chapman. Sons Wes and Scott; daughter Lynn. Had one sister Lucille.
