VERNON ADAMS LOUP CITY Vernon C. Adams, 87, of Loup City, Died Saturday, Dec. 23, at Sacrad Heart Hospital In Loup City. Services will be held today, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Curch in Loup City. The Rev. Sharee Kelly will officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City. Mr. Adams was born Aug. 26, 1902, at Bellwood to Russell and Arminta Oliver Adams. When he was a child the family moved to the Clear Creek area near Mason City. He attended country school at Clear Creek and later attended Broken Bow High School and the Universit of Nebraska ag college. He also worked potato and beet fields in the Scottsfield area. On April 30, 1934, he married Ruth Quartz at Kearney. They farmed for a short time at Ansley, then moved to the "County Farm" where they lived for nine years. In 1945, the couple moved to a farm south of Loup City where they farmed till 1975. Last Febuary Mr. Adams moved to Rose Lane Home. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He also served several years on the District 4 school board. Survivors include his wife, daughter, Mrs. Don (Cleo) Phillips of Loup City; a son Ronald of Valdosta, Ga.; a brother, Chester of Loup City, 6 grandchilderen, and 4 greatgrandchildern. He was preceeded in death by 5 sisters and 3 brothers.
