Bio

Funeral services for Frances Florence, 87, Tyler, in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Frances was born Aug. 28, 1924, to the late Arcus and Lillie Millington Black, and passed away peacefully on Jan. 23, 2012. She was a member of the Woods Baptist Church and retired after 23 years as a checker for Brookshire Grocery Co. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Verner Florence. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Peggy Florence of New Chapel Hill; daughters and sons-in-law, Verna and Buddy Collins and Jinny and Bill Hood, both of Irving; brother, Jerry Black of Tyler; sister, Melba McCartic of Tyler; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to The Hospice of East Texas Foundation or the Gideons International. Published in Tyler Morning Telegraph on January 27, 2012
