Gilbert Rightmeier 1919-2005 Gilbert Rightmeier, 85, of Cheyenne died Aug. 24 at United Medical Center-West. He was born Nov. 28, 1919, in Jewell, Kan. Mr. Rightmeier was a farmer. He was a member of First Congregational Church, Elks Club and Men's Auxiliary First Congregational Church. Mr. Rightmeier is survived by two daughters, Linda Sue Shiers and Kristin Lane Span, both of Cheyenne; and three grandchildren, Brian James Kunkel of Denver, Leslie Marie and Shane Doig of Denver, and Nathan Robert Span of Cheyenne; two stepgrandchildren, Brandon Shiers and wife, and Allen Shiers and family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Merry Elizabeth Rightmeier; his parents; and two brothers, Gaylord Rightmeier and Glenn Rightmeier. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at Ogallala First Congregational Church in Ogallala, Neb., with Pastor Lauran Heidenreich officiating. Burial will be in Ogallala Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Calvin Schultz, Bill Finch, Cpl. Nathan Span, Shane Doig, Brandon Shiers and Guy Bechtel.
