The Webster Sentinel Minden, La Mar. 14, 1929 COTTON VALLEY NEWS It is with great regret that we chronicle the passing of Mr. J.J. Moody, 82 years old, who passed away Saturday morning at his home in Cotton Valley, following an illness of about 2 weeks. Mr. Moody was born and reared in Emerson, Arkansas and moved here 27 years ago where he made his home since. The deceased is survived by his wife; four sons, J.A. Moody, postmaster of Cotton Valley, W.E. and B.A. Moody of Emerson, Ark., and J Moody of Los Angeles, Cal., and one daughter, Mrs. Emma Riddle of this place. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the First Methodist Church and interment made in the Cotton Valley cemetery. Mr. Moody is well known here and has a host of friends to mourn his loss.
