******************************************* Dorothy H. (Oxley) Haberman, 90, of Sutton, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2012, at Federated Church in Sutton. Interment: Sutton Cemetery. Visitation: Thursday, 2-8 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton. Memorials to Federated Church in Sutton, or Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard. Arrangments by Sutton Memorial Chapel. (journalstar.com/obituary) ========================================================== Dorothy was born April 25, 1921, to Charles and Marie (Bruning) Oxley. She received her education in Clay Center, NE. On July 7, 1939, she married Harold Haberman in Sutton, NE and to this union one daughter was born. They resided in Western Nebraska for a short time before making their home in Sutton. She and Harold owned and operated Haberman Produce in Sutton for many years. In 1964, she began her employment with Sutton Public Schools as the bookkeeper for the lunch program. After her retirement, she and her husband spent a lot of time traveling. In February 2007, she moved to the Harvard Rest Haven where she had resided since. She was a member of the Federated Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed music, teaching herself to play the pump organ as a child and singing in the church choir. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Keith Sandall of Lincoln, NE; grandsons, Brian and wife Tiffany Sandall of Blair, NE; Darrel and wife Sharon Sandall of Pendleton, IN; 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; brother, Marvin Oxley and sister, Maudie Zajic. Hastings Tribune January 19, 2012
