COLEMAN - Mr. Carroll R. Hodges, 95 years of age, of Santa Anna, Texas, 300 Co.Rd. 121 since 1983, passed at his residence Friday, April 4, 2009. He was born March 18, 1914, in Waldrip, Texas, to Tom and Cora Hodges. He married Miss Nelda Opal Hester in Reno, Nev., March 22, 1942. He was a rancher and a veteran of World War II. Carroll is survived by his wife, Nelda of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Caroline and Ivy Cole of Liberty Hill, Dianne English, and Kathy and Lee Doggett, all of San Angelo, Texas, and Nancy Hodges of Mertzon, Texas; two sisters, Nettie Andrews and Loretta Mcoree of Plainview, Texas; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Two grandsons have preceded him in death, Bobby Lee and Dustin Lee Doggett; and son-in-law Paul English; six brothers; and five sisters. Family visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, at The Fife Tabernacle with graveside services and interment to follow at 11:30 a.m. in Marion Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.
