Lydia Cooper, 89 of Garwood, passed away on January 2, 2012. She was born on November 17, 1922 in Needville to the late John and Mary Zachek Fojtik. She was retired as a registered nurse and served in the U. S. Army. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Catholic Daughters of America and the Christian Mothers. She is survived by her daughter Mary Jane Terry and husband Stanley of Katy, sons John J. Gogan and wife Betty of Houston, Michael David Gogan of Houston, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sisters Vlasta Boehm of El Campo and Virginia Pavlovsky of Garwood. She was preceded in death by her husbands John Gogan, Sr. and Raymond Frank Cooper, sons Patrick Joseph Gogan and James Gogan, and sister Alice Schoellmann. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 pm until 8 pm. Services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012, with a Rosary recited by the Christian Mothers at 10 am followed by Funeral Services at Triska Funeral Home with Deacon Edward Wendel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Nada. The family would like to give special thanks to Lydia's caregiver, Deborah Elledge, for her loving care. Triska Funeral Home
