Joseph Russell, 88, of Madison died Monday, December 26, 2011 at Four Winds Manor in Verona. He was born March 3, 1923 to Delbert and Florence (Neeley) Russell and on May 29, 1945 he was united in marriage to Frances Kinder at Madison Congregational Church. Russell worked for the State of Wisconsin for 28 years as a storekeeper for the University of Wisconsin Madison. He is survived by his daughter, Sheila (John) Swartz of Fifield, Wisconsin and a son, Roger Allan Russell of Fifield, Wis.; grandchildren: Francis Keifer, Allison Crawford, Jesse Fay Crawford; great-grandchildren: Brittany Keifer, Steven Keifer and David Keifer; sister, Dorothy Sisson of Arkansas; brother, David (Marilyn) Russell of Tennessee; nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances on June 1, 1993; brothers Harold, John and Ralph; and sister Mary. Blessed be our memory of Joseph Russell. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30, at 12:00 noon at the Dell United Methodist Church, rural Westby. Pastor Karen Bankes will officiate with burial in the Dell Cemetery.
