Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, October 31, 1968 NIERMAN FUNERAL HELD OCTOBER 26 Funeral services were held for F.W. (Fritz) Nierman on Saturday, October 26, at 10:30 a.m. from Zion Lutheran church in Holyoke, with Rev. James Pomeroy officiating. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. Arrangements were in charge of the Lewis Funeral Home, Holyoke. Mr. Nierman died on Wednesday, October 23, at St. Joseph's hospital in Denver following an illness of about a year's duration. A son of Fred Nierman, Sr., and Ida Stark Nierman, Mr. Nierman was born May 11, 1906 at Osmond, Nebraska. He was baptized in Osmond church on June 3 and was confirmed on April 24, 1921 in Amherst, Colorado. On August 22, 1926 he was united in marriage to Anna Brunken and to this union four children were born. "Fritz" worked in the Nierman Brothers store for a time after his marriage and then went into the bulk oil business in Amherst. In 1944 he moved to Holyoke and was with Continental Oil Co., from 1943 until 1947 and again in 1949 to 1956. From 1947 to 1949 he was with Banker's Union insurance in Torrington, Wyoming. He had been an agent for Crop Insurance in Holyoke since 1954. Mr. Nierman was an active member of the Holyoke Lutheran church and a member of the Lutheran Laymen's league, a member of the Holyoke Gun club and the Holyoke Golf club. Surviving Mr. Nierman are his wife, Anna, Fort Collins; two sons, Alvin, Fort Collins, and Richard, Greeley; two daughters, Mary Ellen, Mrs. James Dickson, Fort Collins, Julesburg*; two sisters, Mrs. Dick Schmidt, Amherst and Mrs. Roy Snider, Englewood; six grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister and two brothers.
