Bio

Celia Ward was born in the portion of Rhea County, Tennessee that became Meigs County upon its creation in 1836. She was a daughter of Nicodemus Ward and his first wife, Margaret (Queener) Ward. She was named in honor of her paternal grandmother, Celia Ward, the wife of Benjamin Ward, of Ashe County, North Carolina.
