Amarillo Globe - July 23, 2001 Idell Garrett Broughton Mork, 97, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 22, 2001. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. Loren Harper, Comanche Trails Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Mork was born July 21, 1903, in Hopkins County. She married Oscar Broughton in 1921. He died in 1950. She married Jack Mork in 1963. He died in 1990. She was a seamstress all her life and sewed up until a few days before her death. She was preceded in death by five children; Irvine Broughton in 1933, Lavonia Nelson in 1973, Doris Heath in 1991, Christine Strebeck in 1996, and Otis Broughton in 2000. Survivors include nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to High Plains Children's Home or BSA Hospice in Amarillo.
