Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, CO, January 6, 1983 WALTER HINCK RITES DECEMBER 30 Walter Eugene Hinck, long-time resident of Holyoke, more recently of Dardanelle, Arkansas, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, while in Holyoke for the holidays. Services were held December 30 at the Victory Temple Assembly of God Church in Holyoke, with Pastor Sherlock officiating. Walter was born March 2, 1924 in Sedgwick County, near Julesburg to Albert and Ernastena Hinck. He received his schooling at the Sunnydale country school, located 12 miles north and 1 mile west of Holyoke. Walter was united in marriage to Carol Maxine Kruse on June 28, 1942; to this union two children were born F.E. (Gene) Hinck of Holyoke, and Lola Clubb of Dardanelle, Arkansas. On July 6, 1945, he was inducted into the United States Army, serving as a military policeman; receiving an Honorable Discharge on May 7, 1946. He resided in Holyoke until 1971, during which time he was engaged in farming, carpentry, well service, mechanic and served as a policeman for the town of Holyoke from 1967 to 1969. While residing in Holyoke, he was an active member in the American Legion and was a past commander. In December of 1971 Walter and his wife moved to Crawfordsville, Oregon where they resided until 1979 when they sold their farm and moved to Tangent, Oregon. He resided there until the death of his wife in July of 1982, at which time he moved to Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Don and his wife Carol. Survivors include his son Gene and family of Holyoke; his daughter Lola and family of Dardanelle, Arkansas; two sisters, Amber Hinrichs, Sacramento, California and Erma Ellis, North Highlands, California; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Interment was at the Holyoke Memorial Park.
