Bio
Calvin Edward Lamar, age 88, of Athens, AL, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the Athens-Limestone Hospital. Mr. Lamar was born March 13, 1923 in Limestone County to Edward Milton Lamar and Trudie L. Evans Lamar. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Terry Lamar officiating. Mr. Lamar was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Oleta Lamar; and parents, Edward and Trudie Lamar. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Lamar and wife Nancy of Athens and Edward LaDon Lamar and wife Joan of Athens; four grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
