B: Brushy Creek,Tx.D: League City,Tx. Buried: 01/20/04. Preceded by husb. of 67 yrs., Jim Hassell. BENNIE ELROD HASSELL, 87, passed into eternal rest during early evening at Baywind Village Assisted Living in League City on January 17, 2004. Bennie was born in Brushy Creek, Texas on January 8, 1917. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jim Hassell during January 2003. Bennie is survived by her daughter, Margie "Peaches" Rowe and husband E.T. of Clear Lake; grandchildren, John Loessin, Cheryl Mills and husband Doug, Mike Loessin and wife Carla; great-grandchildren, Jacob Loessin, Sarah Mills, Samuel Mills all of Friendswood; sister, Gussie Fletcher and husband Omer of Clute; niece, Mary Alford also from Clute. Family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00-7:00PM at SouthPark Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at 11AM Shadycrest Baptist, 3214 Hamm, Pearland (281) 485-1481. Brother Steve Daily presiding.
