Beckham County, OK - Obits: Rector L. Page, 1921 Tuesday, 16 Sep 2008 PAGE, RECTOR L. (29 Apr 1921, Friday, Southwest Press, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Last Saturday afternoon at the railroad crossing at Moorewood, a fast special freight struck the wagon of R. L. Page, knocking him unconscious and seriously injuring his three and one half year old son and also his father in law C. H. Huff. The train brought the injured to Elk City about 4:30 p.m., and they were carried to the city hospital. Mr. Page never regained consciousness and died at 9:54 Sunday night, Mr. Huff and the small son are recovering from the accident. R. L. Page was a member of one of the pioneer families in this section,was thirty-four years old and leaves to mourn his death, a wife and son,two sisters, Mrs. Maude Smith and Mrs. J. E. Wilson of Leedy, and six brothers, Max Page of Putman, Floyd and George of Leedy, Frank and Jesse of Grandfield and Raymond of Enid. The remains were shipped to Moorwood where funeral services were conducted at the cemetery by Rev. Will Morgan, Monday afternoon. Several from Elk City drove over to Moorewood for the funeral which was the largest ever witnessed.
