Bio
Bill was born in Atlantic, Iowa serving honorably during WWII in the Army Air Corp., elevating to the rank of Sergeant. He died peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by his family. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, two sons, daughter-in-law and four grandchildren. A memorial will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, San Diego, CA, on Saturday, January 7, at 2 p.m. Published in San Diego Union-Tribune on Jan. 5, 2012. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bill was born and raised in Atlantic, later working and marrying in Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr., Freda and sister Elizabeth, his grandparents Charles and Fannie (Roe) Brown and Henry and Maude (Triplett) (Trailer) Baxter. He moved his family to San Diego, CA in 1962 to work for his sister, Elizabeth. He worked and retired as a county employee of San Diego County. After retiring, he volunteered for many years in the community of Pacific Beach with the citizens patrol at night. Atlantic News Telegraph - Jan. 4, 2012
