Major Richard Frank Loose Major Richard Frank Loose, 88, of Sanger, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Denton Regional Medical Center. Born on January 17, 1923, he married Margaret Morgan in 1982. He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, fighting in both World War II and the Korean War, serving three years overseas and working in Missile Defense at the Pentagon. He was a bomber pilot and earned several medals and awards throughout his military career including the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the Bronze Star. After retiring from the military, Mr. Loose worked as a Logistics Engineer for LTV and Texas Instruments. Richard is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Clifford Loose and wife, Glenda of Otto, NC and Brian Loose and wife, Vickie of Sanger; stepson, Dutch Hodson and wife, Suzie of Rowlett; stepdaughter, Linda Bostic of Midlothian; brother, Rudyard (Bud) Loose of Colorado; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Frank Loose and Dorothea Loose and stepmother, Bessie Loose, and an infant son, Richard Nelson Loose. Visitation will be held from 10:30 - 11:30 am Tuesday, January 3, 2012 with a memorial service - including full military honors - starting at 11:30 am in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors.
