Grant Ave., American Fork, died Monday morning at a Provo hospital of heart failure. He was born Jan. 23, 1882, in Alpine, Utah County, the son of Joseph William and Dorthea Marie Beck Watkins. (Photo) He married Nannie Hall on Nov 6, 1907, in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. Watkins was a rancher and served as president of the Alpine Irrigation Co. An active member of the LDS Church, he served a mission to the Northern States from 1903 to 1905. He was a member of the American Fork Sixth Ward. Survivors include his widow, American Fork; two sons and four daughters, Bernell Watkins, Alpine; Paul Watkins, Quincy, Calif.; Mrs. Elfreda Evon, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ivan (Bernice) Barlow, Clearfield; Mrs. Elliott (Elsa) Lee and Mrs. Reese (Ruth) Nash, both of American Fork; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John (Effie) Bushman, American Fork. Funeral services will be held Thursday at noon in the American Fork Sixth-Eighth Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday until 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Alpine City Cemetery.
