Knapp states Samuel and family came to Michigan from New York in Sep. 1836. "were farmers of Greene County, NY, Samuel was a soldier of the War of 1812. He came to Michigan with his wife late in life and died at his son William's at Wolf Creek, this county in 1850 aged 76 <1773> . His wife died about two years after, aged 75 years".
