Wanda Smith, age 57, a longtime resident of Georgetown, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 21,2011. She was born on January 22, 1954, on cool winter day in Austin, Texas to Raymond and Irene (Krueger) Werchan. Wanda grew up in Central Texas and was thankful to call Georgetown and the surrounding areas home. On June 16,1972, Charles Howard Smith, Jr. considered himself blessed to have Wanda's hand in marriage. They exchanged their wedding vows in Walburg, Texas and celebrated thirty-nine years of marriage this past summer. Wanda devoted over twenty-four years of service to public education as the Transportation Director for GISD and through her dedication promoted commitment to community and service. She loved her family and will be remembered as one that influenced many lives. Wanda is preceded in death by her father Raymond William Werchan.
