The Kalamazoo Gazette Februrary 22, 1963 LEAS, Mr. Leo, E., 10901 Weaver Dr., Portage Township Age 67, passed away Thursday after a brief illness. Mr. Leas was born April 7, 1895, in Waukon, Iowa, the son of Jeremiah and Hester Leas and had been a resident of Portage Township for the last 34 years. He was employed as a millwright at the Lee Paper Co. in Vicksburg. Mr. Leas attended the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Vicksburg. He is survived by his wife, Clementine; 3 sons, Lowell Wayne and Leo Jr. of Kalamazoo and Gwenn of Flagstaff, Ariz; 2 daughters, Mrs. Thelma Carney of Memphis, Tenn. and Mrs. Viola Havrilla, Minneapolis, Minn.; 5 brothers, Dyrel of Detroit, Reed of McHenry, Ill., Cecil of Southgate, Calif., Arden of Crooksten, Minn. and Glenn of St. Cloud, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Kakloski of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 o'clock at the Critz Funeral Home, Vicksburg, Rev. Arthur Spafford officiating. Interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Kalamazoo. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Michigan Heart Fund which may be left at the funeral home.
