Birth and death dates and locations from California Death Index Records. [un-named Texas newspaper article]: Rev. Smith Dies in California. The Rev. Aubrey W. Smith 53, brother of Mrs. S.L. Loretta York of 1774 Sandefer, died of a heart attack Tuesday at his home in Chico, Calif. Funeral arrangements are pending at Chico . Rev. Smith born and reared at Eden, Graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1932 and also was a graduate of Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth. He married Godie Jane Ritching in 1933. He had been pastor of Roscoe Baptist Church and other West Texas churches and was serving as an associational missionary in Northern California at the time of his death. Other survivors are his wife; one son, Ron of Newman, Calif; two grandsons; one brother Audis of Odessa and five nephews.
