Bio

Julia Hilburn of Lubbock, formerly of Lamesa, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the age of 91. She was born May 6, 1920 in Indiana, PA to the late George and Susan (Duda) Hudak. The family resided in Starford, PA during her youth. Julia married Odell Frank Hilburn on December 15, 1945. They made their home in Lamesa and were members of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church before moving to Lubbock in 1993. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2002. Those left to cherish her memory are son, Danny Hilburn and wife Melodee of Lubbock; three daughters, Suzie Hilburn, Barbara Hilburn, and Ginny Causer and husband Robert, all of Lubbock; three brothers, Joe Hudak of Marsteller, PA, Michael Hudak and wife Betty of Commodore, PA; and Leonard Hudak and wife Pat of Ocala, FL; sister, Josephine Valenti of Indiana, PA; two sisters-in-law, Betty Kidd of Lubbock and Jean Godair and husband Homer of Snyder; grandchildren, Jacob and Christopher Causer and Meagan and Jennifer Hilburn, all of Lubbock; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Lamesa Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
