Gary L. Kolbo, 59 Cozad resident, avid Husker and Braves fan, longtime Monroe employee. Gary Kolbo, 59, of Cozad, died Sept. 23, 2004 at Southview Manor Care Center in Cozad. He was born Dec. 14, 1944, at Broken Bow to Leland and Joy Meyer Kolbo. He graduated from Cozad High School in 1963. On Oct. 3, 1964, he married Donna Dillon. He worked his entire adult life at Monroe Auto Equipment Co. He retired in 2003 due to ill health as a supervisor in the packing department. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Nebraska Cornhusker fan. He and his father attended several Atlanta Brave games. He also enjoyed collecting baseball cards. Survivors include his wife, Donna of Cozad, his father Leland of Cozad, six sons, Tony (Stacy) of Kearney, Dean of Cozad, Wade (Michele) of McCook and Rick, Ryan and Zane all of Lincoln; a brother, Norval (Joyce) of Gothenburg and seven grandchildren, Eric, Brennan, Regan, Devin, Kaylea, Dillon and Alyssa. He was preceded in death by his mother. A memorial has been established in his memory. Rosary was held Sunday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cozad. Mass of the Christian Burial was held Sept. 27, 2004, at the church with the Rev. Don O'Brien as Celebrant. Burial was at the Cozad Cemetery. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
