Leon Charles Levy Sr., age 87, of Alvin, Texas passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 at his residence. Leon was born on June 14, 1924 in Corsicana, Texas and was a resident of Alvin for 50 years. He was a member of Texas Peace Officer Association, American Legion Post # 129 and the V.F.W. of Alvin, and Veteran of Battle of the Bulge. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Leon was former Chief of Police of Alvin from 1963–1970. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Moise and Ruth Levy. Leon is survived by his wife of 67 years, Peggy Levy; daughters, Linda Jones and husband, James, and Lesley Marcelissen; son, Chuck Levy; 5 grandchildren, Matt, Mike, Kristy, Angie and Jimmy; 1 great-grandson, Jaxson; and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Scott Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Houston National Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of the Scott Family.
