Bio
Estes Park resident JoAnn Prochaska died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colo. She was 79 years old. JoAnn Peck was born Dec. 17, 1931, in Norfolk. Her parents were John and Mary (Reilly) Peck. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a bachelors degree. She worked at the 1st National Bank of Columbus starting in summers of her college years. On Dec. 6, 1953, she married George Prochaska, in Columbus, where they started their family. After George's retirement in 1989, the couple moved to Estes Park, Colo. There, they were members of Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church. She was also a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. George died June 1, 2005. JoAnn is survived by her sons, Kevin, Kerry and their families; She is also survived by a brother, John Peck, of Columbus; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kim, in 1993; grandson, George Michael Prochaska, in 2006; and granddaughter, Katrina Jo Prochaska, in 1984. A Mass of the Christian burial will celebrate JoAnn's life at 10 a.m.Saturday at Our Lady of the Mountains Church. Burial will take place at Estes Valley Memorial Gardens. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of the Mountains.
