Bio

Family folklore says Ira Caswell Price just left his wife and daughter in Tishomingo County and no one knows why or what happened to him. In the 1910 Census , his wife Dora and daughter Maudie are living with Dora's parents. She lists herself as a "widow" but no one believes that Ira died - he just left. He does not show up in the WWI draft registration or any census. Dora remarried to William H. Counce of Counce, Hardin, Tennessee and her daughter Maudie married James Clinton Counce of Hardin County, Tennessee. UPDATE: 12.27.2016 - I just discovered a U.S. Army, Register of Enlistments, 1798-1914 (Ancestry.com) that indicates he enlisted in the US Army on April 23, 1904 in the "Infantry Engineers - Co. W". He was discharged at FT. Leavenworth, KS on April 22, 1907.
