Bio

Ed, as he was known, was born to Herman & Mary Meyer Niekamp, in 1915. He had 4 brothers (Walter, Anton, Henry, and Leonard)& 1 sister (Sister Sylvester). He was raised on a farm in Lott, Tx. where He learned that only with God, can you succeed. His devout Catholic faith carried him through life, in which He passed on this faith to his children. He married Elvira Minnie Kuhn in 1935, and migrated from his country home in Lott to Houston Tx. in 1936. With his loving wife Elvira, they began their life with their 2 children, Eddie Jr. and Ida Mae. They suffered through the post-depression years, saving pennies, and taking whatever jobs were available. He worked at Hughes Tool till his retirement in 1955, when He formed Northeast Fence Co. He operated it until 1966, when He retired for good. He died of a Heart attack in 1981. His love for his family will always be remembered. Being his son, I am naturally biased, but I can honestly say this man was the "GREATEST MAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN!"
