Bio

Doris was the 2nd of 3 children born to Kirk & Ola (Owens) Henington. Herald Banner, Greenville, TX December 12, 2011 Doris Thomason WOLFE CITY — Doris R. Thomason, 82, of Wolfe City passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Tendercare of Colonial Lodge Retirement Center in Greenville. Mrs. Thomason was born on Oct. 25, 1929, to Clive K. Henington and Ola Loretta Henington in Oklahoma. She married Allen D. Thomason on Sept. 26, 1948, in Rockwall. Mrs. Thomason was a former owner of Henington Industries in Wolfe City and was active in many church and civic organizations. She was a member of Eastern Star, Wolfe City Book Club, Charter member of Webb Hill Country Club, Webb Hill Ladies Golf Association and played piano for the First Baptist Church for many years. She served on the board of directors of Citizens National Bank of Greenville and as secretary of Henington Industries. Survivors are one sister, Julia Wensel and husband Ron of Wolfe City; daughter, Judy McClung and husband James of Garland; and granddaughter Debra McClung of Garland along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thomason was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Bob Lee Thomason; and one brother, Bruce Henington. Funeral services for Mrs. Thomason will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, in the First Baptist Church at Wolfe City, conducted by Dr. Kevin Mitchell. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Pallbearers are Tom Wensel, Kirk Wensel, Marc Wensel, Wayne Henington, Brian Henington and Warren Hodges. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Ranley, Bobby Owens, Bill Reneau, Reuben Milton, Dr. S.E. Smith, Dr. Mutt Milford and J. T. "Woody" Woodruff. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, Wolfe City or Alzheimer's Association.
