Bio

George Thomas "Tom" Tinsley, 87, of Nampa, passed away on March 8, 2007. Tom died peacefully at home in Nampa with his daughter at his side. He was born and raised in Scottsboro, Neb., to Clarence Evert Tinsley and Lilly Mae Stowell Tinsley. He later moved to Sacramento, Calif., to serve in the Army, where he met the love of his life, Dorothy "Jean" Spencer who was working as a telephone operator. Jean, as she was known by all, died in October of 2003. Tom was the last of six brothers and sisters. Sisters Julia, and Gladys and brothers Clarence, Charles and Jimmy, all who died early in life. During Tom's lifetime he was a fisherman, logger, electrician and retired as a mechanic for the State of Idaho. He belonged to the Mason's Oriental Shrine #60 and was Past Patron of The Order of Eastern Star Adah #8. He is survived by his daughter, Gloria, who is married to Jack Mitchell, they have three children and two grandchildren; son, Clint is married to Cathy, they have three children and 10 grandchildren. Special thanks to Dad's special caregiver, Lea Egos, who was there till the end, and Accent Hospice for all their help and support. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at Cloverdale Memorial Park.
