Fort Worth Star-Telegram, 29 Jul 2001 - Bedford - Laverl Dixon, 81, a homemaker, died Fri., 27 July 2001 at a local hospital. Funeral: 2 pm Mon., at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd in Hurst. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Laverl was a member of the First Bapt. Church of Hurst & was active in the Faith Class. Her friends at Eden Garden voted her resident of the month in June. She was a lifelong wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She gave unconditionally to her family, & all who knew her were moved by her great faith. Her husband of 57 years, Ben F. Dixon, preceded her in death. Survivors: Son: Mark D. Dixon & wife, Betty L.-Flower Mound; dau: Ann Meier & husband, Bill-Hurst; sis: Christine Patrick-Lone Star; grandchildren, Jon Curlee & wife, Robin-Grapevine, Josh Meier-Austin, Shelly Fresh & husband, Shane-North Richland Hills; great-granddau: Samantha Curlee-Grapevine; sisters-in- law: Lu Morgan-Dallas & Lucille Morgan-Sulphur Springs. ∼ Married Ben Franklin Dixon on 16 May 1939 in Hunt Co, Texas, United States
