Bio
Clara M. Zimmerman, 84, of Elm Creek died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at her home. Clara was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Elm Creek to David and Effie (Vath) Reeve. In March 1948, she married Ray A. Zimmerman in Kearney. He preceded her in death. Survivors are: son, Keith of Elm Creek; daughter, Lois Buchanan and her husband, William, of Elm Creek; grandchildren, Kent and Ray Buchanan; brother, Joy Reeve of Kearney; and special family friends, Dan Treffer and family. Clara grew up in rural Elm Creek, attended Rural 94 School and graduated from Elm Creek High School. Clara and Ray made their home in Elm Creek. She was a farm wife and mother. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Kearney where she worked in food service at Good Samaritan Hospital. Clara was a member of the church in Elm Creek. She enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds outside of her home, gardening and growing flowers. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, David; brother, Darrel; and special friend, Glen Treffer. Burial was in the Elm Creek Cemetery, Elm Creek, NE.
