Bio

Prior to WW2, Lottie had headed to Washington, DC to work as an employee of the Department of the US Navy in the Bureau of Supplies and Accounts, and was soon promoted and made Special Supervisor of the Aircraft Audit Unit. One day, she refused to approve an invoice from an aircraft company due to cost overruns. Despite pressure from her supervisor, she refused to budge. The matter was then taken before the Commander in Charge for further review. Her findings stood and she received a promotion and a commendation from UnderSecretary of the Navy, James Forrestal. Her residence was 3 blocks away was the Japanese Embassy and she lived in a former embassy along with co-workers and officers of various military branches. She would recall stories of the morning of December 7th, 1941 and the chaos in the lobby of her apartment building and all the officers trying to make phone calls to find out what happened. She would tell of how that night, thousands of people crowded shoulder to shoulder, marching to the Japanese Embassy. It took the full force of the DC Police, FBI, and the Military Police to keep the crowd in control and prevent them storming the embassy. In 1945, she met Wilson "Bill" Davis, the man she would marry in 1953. She brought Bill back to her home of Tyler Texas, where they would live out the rest of their interesting lives. ∼ Daughter of: Newton McDonald Prichard Frances Tallulah Brown Wife of: James Madison Davis Bonnie Christian "Red" Uzzel [m. 20-Apr-1939 in Athens, TX; divorced abt. 09-Nov-1951 in Tarrant Co., TX] Wilson Jones "Willie" Davis [m. 22-Nov-1953 in Shreveport, LA] ∼ The Tyler Courier-Times Tyler, Texas Tuesday, 27-Jul-1993, page 9 Lottie P.
