Adolf Gustav Lehmann was baptized July 9, 1859, and he was confirmed April 6, 1873, at Eben Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin, Washington County, Texas. Adolf Gustav Lehmann married Malinde Struwe on January 16, 1881, in Caldwell, Burleson County, Texas. ********************************************************************************* OBITUARY FROM THE BRENHAM BANNER PRESS: A. G. LEHMANN DIES AGED 74 YEARS; WILL BE BURIED SUNDAY A. G. Lehmann, aged 74 years, a life long resident of Washington County, passed away at his residence at 402 Jackson Street, at 11:20 Saturday morning, after being in failing health for some months. The deceased was born April 26, 1858, in the Green Oak community, and spent his younger days there. He was married January 16, 1881, at Caldwell, to Miss Malinda Struwe, who survives him. together with the following children: Mrs. B. M. Woltmann of Houston, H. J. Lehmann of Galveston, Ed L. Lehmann of Port Arthur, Miss Louise Hodde of Green Oak, Walter and Ernest Lehmann of Galveston. He also leaves eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Werner, formerly of Brenham, but who now makes her home in Germany and France, and Mrs. John Dietz of Brenham. His only brother, L. C. Lehmann of Brenham, died about two years ago. He had a very large family connection, leaving numerous relatives in Washington County and other sections of Texas. Many years ago Mr. Lehmann and family moved to Brenham, where he has been a highly respected resident, loved and honored by all who knew him. On moving to Brenham, he retired from active business and lived quietly at home with this beloved wife. They celebrated their golden wedding in 1931 with a joyous family gathering. The body was taken to the Clark-Simank Funeral Home, where it was prepared for burial, and Sunday morning will be conveyed back to his residence, where funeral services will be held at three o'clock Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Arthur Hartmann, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church officiating. Decedent had been a faithful and devout member of the Lutheran church for many years, and was an earnest Christian. Interment will be made at the family burial ground in Green Oak, a few miles west of Brenham, on the Burton highway, near his father and mother and other relatives who are sleeping the eternal sleep in the little cemetery near the old Lehmann home, where he was born and reared. Active pallbearers will be Robert Weiss, Wm. Hodde, Ben Schleider, A. J. Wendt, A. W. Hodde and Wm. Hacker. All friends of the family are asked to consider themselves honorary pallbearers.
