Bio

Gene Griffith, 59, grew up in Moran and graduated from Moran High School. He attended Ranger Junior College for one year. He was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion for 30 years, serving as vice commander of the Breckenridge Post #191 at the time of his death. Griffith was a Baptist and self-employed carpenter. He married Ruth Mercer on 7 February 1953 at Ranger. She preceded him in death. He married Velva Decker on 5 August 1988 at Breckenridge. He was preceded in death by his parents.
