Funeral services for Margie Witherspoon, age 91, of Lubbock will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at Green Lawn Church of Christ in Lubbock with the Rev. Darwin Robinson and the Rev. Leslie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. Mrs. Witherspoon died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, in Lubbock. She was born Aug. 28, 1912, in Bosque County, Texas to the late A.P. and Eva Wylie. She married Russell Witherspoon on Dec. 8, 1928 in Justiceburg, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; an infant son, Dean; a daughter, Betty; three sisters, Alma Shoener, Marie Gilson, and Maxine Waltz; and a brother, Billy Wylie. She is survived by two daughters, Connie Curry and husband, Hal of Wolfforth, and Sandra Leach and husband, Taylor of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Troy and wife, Shirley of Mosca, Colo., and Bob and wife, Glenda of Topeka, Kan.; a sister, Thelma Jones and husband, H.A. of Arvada, Colo.; a brother, Wayne Wylie and wife, Bobbie of Rosewood, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
