Co B 37th IA Inf Died of smallpox at Arsenal Island, St Louis MO Reburied in Jefferson Barracks in 1876 "In 1876, 470 unknown Union remains were transferred from Arsenal Island in Illinois, the U.S. Army's contagious disease hospital located on an island in the Mississippi River, known during the war as "Smallpox Island."
