Bio

Her first husband was Richard Marion Butcher; they had 8 children; he died before 1840 in Monroe County, Indiana. Her second husband was Elias Bruner, a widower with 8 children. They had another 9 children together. Elias is buried at Thornsberry Campground Cemetery - when he was buried the ground was flooded and Matilda said not to bury her there.
