SOURCE: Death Certificate: ''''''''''''''''''''''' The Billings Gazette, MT. 6/9/1936 Tuesday Page 11 Death Claims Local Student Elizabeth Kirwan, 18, Dies Here Monday on Birthday Death on her birthday anniversary Miss Elzabeth Iva Lorraine Kirwin, 18-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jospeh P. Kirwan of Miles City in a local hospital Monday noon. The young women had been ailing at intervals since last Christmas with diabetes but was thought to be improving. She was taken to the hospital Monday morning while in a diabetic coma and died soon afterward. Miss Kirwan was born in Sioux City, Iowa on June 8, 1918. Although the family has resided in Miles City for several years, Miss Kirwan was attending Billings High School until the middle of the Spring Term when her health made it necessary for her to leave school and return home. She was a senior and would have graduated this Spring. Mr. Kirwan, the girl's father is employed by the Montana State Highway Commission near Jordan, MT. Miss Kirwan and her mother came to Billings last Thursday to spend the summer with relatives here. Besides her parents, Miss Kirwan is survived by three brothers Jimmy Kirwan (a Boxer) of Miles City, MT., Lloyd Kirwan who is in CCC Camp at Haugan, and Kenneth who was with his mother and sister here. She also is survived by her paternal grandfather D.J. Kirwan of Grose, NE., and her maternal grandparent Mrs. Iva Lou Lloyd of Billings, MT. The body is at Smith's Funeral Home, and will be taken to Miles City for Burial.
