Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT ) - September 12, 1992 Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Beth Murphy, age 85, passed away Sept. 10, 1992 at Doxie Hatch of natural causes. Born March 17, 1907 in Fredonia, Arizona to James and Eva Hortt. Married Bert Murphy March 26, 1925 in the Catholic Church. She was a long time resident of Bingham Canyon, where she had lots of friends and was well known for her pie making and good cooking. She loved to play poker and 21. She was a great fisherman, and was well loved by all that knew her. She operated Murph's Cafe. She is survived by her son, Leo Murphy (Minnie), West Valley City; daughter, Pat Voshall (Glenn), Kearns; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. Rosary and graveside services will be Mon., Sept. 14, 1992, 11 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road. Funeral directors, Memorial Estates Mortuary.
