Chris A. Weber, 92, left us on November 21, 2011. He was born on the family homestead in Arvada, CO on December 9, 1918 to Christian and Louisa (Hess) Weber. Chris grew up on the farm attending country school and graduated from Arvada High School he then went on to graduate from Colorado A&M (now CSU) in 1941. He taught vocational agriculture at Haxtun Colorado high school before he was drafted into the Army and served from 1942 until 1945. Chris trained at Boston MIT and served as a Radar repairman, working on one of the first of its kind Radar Systems. Upon returning from service in Africa and Italy, Chris resumed his high school teaching career in Riverton, Wyoming and then Fountain, Colorado. In 1947 Chris started work with the Soil Conservation Service in Julesburg, Colorado. He worked in Loveland and Denver before retiring to Loveland in 1975. In 1981 Chris married his true love Joan Nedbalek. Chris was an active lifetime member of the Loveland Elks lodge #1051. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW. In 2009 Chris was truly honored to take part in the Honor Flight of Northern Colorado to Washington D. C. Chris was an avid golfer and world traveler often combining those loves. He was also a gifted woodworking craftsman making many pieces of furniture. He is survived by his loving family; his wife, Joan; son, Doug and wife Jory Weber of Arvada; step son, Rob and wife Lori Nedbalek of Huntley, MT; step daughters, Sandy and husband Jerry Bernhardt of Loveland, Bonnie and husband Lowell Jacobsen of Fort Collins; as well as 13 devoted grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Dorothy and Christine Weber, grandson Cory Bernhardt and his first wife Helen Sierawski. A memorial service will be at 10:00am Tueday, November 29 at Allnutt Funeral Service with a reception to follow. Inurnment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Honor Flight or the Elks Lodge in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.
